There is often an interesting story behind great history.
The TITAN STORY begins in 1981, when the curtain rises on a sensational
loudspeaker that would take the experience of listening into a new dimension.
The goal of the protagonists at the time was to create a loudspeaker with the
most linear frequency response. A loudspeaker that could reproduce the deepest
bass, right into the perceptible range, just as impressively as the fi nely
defi ned treble.The result is the legendary TITAN, which we have cultivated for
nine generations already. On the occasion of the company‘s 50th anniversary, we
are relaunching the TITAN VIII as a Limited Edition. This combines distinctive
technologies at a fair price: aluminium ribbon tweeter, pressure chamber, Quadral
ALTIMA® chassis and of course Quadral workmanship and sound quality.
Ribbon Tweeter
The complex design of the aluminium ribbon tweeter ensures the
finest overtone brilliance and outstanding dynamics.With this tweeter concept,
the current fl ows completely through the feather-light diaphragm, resulting in
an absolutely homogeneous vibration behaviour. The magnetic field is generated
by two strong neodymium blocks at the side of the diaphragm.
ALTIMA® midrange driver
The outstanding ALTIMA® midrange driver has become even more
powerful by modifying the drive unit. Geometrical optimisation of the metal
parts ensures that the voice coil can oscillate without interference and
completely symmetrically in the magnetic field.
ALTIMA® woofer
The woofer is a 26cm driver with ALTIMA® cone. As with the midrange
driver, the cone material off ers optimum acoustic properties in the low
frequency range due to its High stiff ness and internal damping. The double
driver design results in a large radiating area, which is responsible for a sovereign
and maximally controlled bass reproduction.
