Döhmann Audio takes us into the future. New extensively upgraded Mk3 versions of Helix 1 and Helix 2 are now shipping with the following exhaustive array of enhancements:

New Bearing
New DC Power Supply
New Drive System
Improved Platter Design
New RSA resonance control technology
New Advanced Composite Armboard (ACA)
New Record Clamp with resonance control performance

The factory have been working tirelessly at improving the sonic performance of their turntables. The level of R&D and hours spent listening and evolving their designs has been very extensive. They assembled a listening panel comprised of some very experienced (and hard to please!) audiophiles and music appreciators to assist at Dohmann HQ. They are very happy with what they have achieved with new levels of detail and musicality with this latest generation. Sonically, the upgrades are amazing, resulting in discernible improvements in many areas.

The new retail prices for Mk3 version (no tonearm), which I understand will hold for Q1 and Q2 of this year are as follows. Looking at the £46,000 for a new Helix 2 Mk3, some £14,000 more than the last price for a Mk2, considering the wealth of upgrades, a far better machined power supply, and the cost increases across the entire industry from materials to shipping, I feel this price rise is actually a lot more palatable than I originally anticipated.
