Why music?
It was always there for me; I just didn’t know I needed it. Plus, it saved me through some of my darkest times.
If you weren’t making music what would you be doing?
Honestly, working for the CIA. I was on track to do that in the military till DJing found me.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Don’t let anyone deter you from doing what you want to do, as long as it makes you happy and doesn’t hurt anyone in the process.

What inspires you?
Life, seeing what you can do with it if you really put your mind to it, is a beautiful thing. So, waking up and knowing my endless opportunities keeps me going.
What’s the next big thing?
The next big thing for me would be moving to Europe full-time.
Best club experience?
Playing this intimate club in Mallorca, Spain. It’s dark and small, just like I like it!
What’s the worst job you’ve ever had?
Being in the military had its perks, and it helped me get to this point here in life, but, doing the same thing repeatedly… with no real challenges really messes with your mental.
How do you know when a track’s finished?
After I send it to my board of directors and they say it sounds solid.
What was your last day job, and when did you realise you could give it up?
My last day job was in the military, and I knew I could give it up whenever because I chose how my life should be and play out. It was just a matter of time.
Which song do you wish you had written?
Optimistic by the Sounds of Blackness is such a godly song.
What’s the easiest way to make it in the music industry?
I don’t think there is an easy way, but I feel there’s a way for people to notice you, and that’s just by being you and nothing else and just being willing to work harder than everyone around you.
What’s the worst track you’ve ever released?
Would have to say Free, I can’t stand it. Plus, it wasn’t a track that was coming from me or what I have developed my sound to be today. I have definitely evolved since then for the better.

The new Little Mermaid. Probably one of the few real-life remakes that is really good.

I wouldn’t say the worst gig, just the city is not it for the underground scene at all. Salt Lake City.

Having the kick and bass booming! Well that’s how I like it…!

How do you relax?
In my bed, no lights, and watching tv.
What one piece of software/kit could you not do without? Why?
My laptop because it has everything I need, down to the songs I make and the songs I play.
Art or money?
Art, because it’s timeless.

I don’t watch football.
Strangest place you ever wrote a track?
On an airplane, but, I guess, not too strange, lol.
Must-visit record store?
I’ve been told the record stores in Japan, so I need to check those out myself.
What’s your single biggest frustration in the music industry?
Mediocrity is being put on a pedestal. Do with that information as you will.
What’s your favourite label? Why?
Tuskegee is a label by my bro Seth Troxler and The Martinez Brothers. I love it because it highlights the upcoming people of colour in dance music, and the label releases fire tunes.
